Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball Playoffs Recap

The Jackson County Volleyball team made school history this year after a record season with 38 wins and only 13 losses. The Panthers made it to the final 4 this year being the only Volleyball team in school history to get to the Final Four. The Panthers played really well this year all the way up to the end. Not only did we break the win record, being the only volleyball team going to the final four ever, we had players breaking records! Our very own Carys Thoa broke the school records for the number of kills in a single match! She had 28 Kills against North Hall helping lead the team to victory. The best thing about this is that she’s only a sophomore and has time to break more records!

The Panthers played and beat Murray County in 3 sets. The Panthers Then Played Jackson for the sweet 16 also taking all 3 sets for themselves. In the Elite 8 the Panthers faced a very talented North Hall team keeping every set very close. The Panthers played 4 sets during this match winning the first one 25-21. The Panthers dropped the second set 26-24 in a close fight. Then the Panthers picked up two more sets winning 25-19 and 25-17. The Panthers moved onto the final four after the match against North Hall.

The Panthers faced a very talented Westminster team on Tuesday, October 29th. The Match was held inside the Westminster gym at 6:00pm. The first set was taken by Westminster 25-16 in a good first set by the Panthers. The Panthers also lost the second and third sets losing 25-15 and 25-7. The Panthers season ended after that loss ending the record season. This playoff run will not be the last from the Panthers as we have very talented players.
