The Lady Panthers Softball Team really outdid themselves tonight in the first round of state at Calhoun. In the first game, the Lady Panthers battled through and ended up losing 5-2 with both of these runs coming on home runs by Sara Beth Allen and Haley Harpis.

After the turnout of the first game, Coach Croteau got her girls going and went into the second game determined more than ever to win. In the first inning, Sara Beth Allen only let 2 runs get by her. The Lady Panthers dominated when they got up to bat, getting in 8 runs, powered by the bats of Abigail Allen, Madison Miller, Sara Beth Allen, Whitney Hulsey, Peri Foster, and Abby Harrell. After this, the girls got in the groove and Sara Beth’s pithing continued to be on fire!!!

The 2nd inning went short for Calhoun and we got back up to bat. Peri Foster, Jordan Price, and Haley Harpis scored 3 more runs to make the score 11-4. In the 6th inning, Whitney Hulsey hit to drive Sara Beth Allen home and make the score 12-6.

In the end, the Lady Panthers won the game 12-10. Throughout both games, the girls never gave up and kept the energy level up.

Multiple catches were made by Abigail Allen, Abby Harrell, and Peri Foster that really helped them win the game to prevent Calhoun from scoring.

Tomorrow, the Lady Panthers take on Calhoun at 5pm in one last game to determine who will move on in the state tournament.
