The Jackson County Panthers took on the Apalachee Wildcats yesterday for their home opener. The game was scoreless up until the top of the 6th inning when Apalachee scored one run through a series of hits. The Panthers were able to drive in a run in the bottom of the 7th inning when Peri Foster hit a double to the outfield. Maggie Knox was then subbed in to run for Peri Foster. Blayne Dowdie then hit a ground ball to the shortstop who fielded it cleanly and made a good throw to first base, but the first baseman dropped it allowing Maggie Knox to score the tying run which would lead to extra innings. The game would later end in a tie after lighting in the area canceled the game in the 8th inning.
