Varsity Track · John Scott Hartness Invitational

  On March 15th, 2019, the Jackson County Panther Track Team traveled to Franklin County High school to partake in the John Scott Hartness Invitational. There were 14 total teams participating in the meet. To be selected to run in the meet, you had to have a top two time in your event for your team.

For the boys, Seth Farmer ran a 12.34 second 100m dash and a 24.46 second 200m meter dash, both top for Jackson County. Sophomore Julian Hibbert ran the top time in the 400, with a 56.22. The top finisher for the boys running events was Russell Hendley, his 4:47 minute mile was enough to earn him 3rd place overall!

For the girl runners, Anasia Jenkins ran a 14.24 second 100m. In the 200m, Naomi Sims ran a 29.58. Senior Jaycie Ponce competed in the 800 and the 1600, earning 3rd and 4th respectively. Sophomore Madison Miller was also able to place top 3 in the 400m dash.

Overall, the panthers did great, with 15 total top 8 finishes. The Panthers host their invitational Saturday, March 23rd.
